veronica's page

one of the wonderful things that happened to me when i met donna was the fact that i was gifted with meeting a wonderful and incredibly gifted little girl named veronica.  when i first met her, she was barely three years old and very very wary of me.  i understood this, and let her take her time to get to know me.  soon she was calling me 'pop-pop,' which made me smile.  and i still remember the first time she called me dad.  it still makes me smile.

veronica is a unique child.  of course, every child is, but she's surprising and precocious.  she loves science, computers, and even a lot of the same music donna and i love.  she has a huge rock and mineral collection, her own microscope and chemestry set, and loves to use them.

i could spend hours crowing about her accomplishments, and as time goes on i probably will :-)  but for today, i want to present to you something we spent an entire day doing...building a castle out of lego building bricks.  i had a huge collection of castle sets that i built up over years and years, but i had to leave them behind when we moved last year.  i finally had the time to get them from my old house, where they had been taken apart and stored in loose pieces.  so we decided to make our own, far larger and more grandiose than anything i had before.  here are some pictures of our project!
