Our World Famous Announcer, Mr. Rick Ames!
When he's not charming audiences with his dulcet tones, Rick is a local actor
and vagrant, acting, singing, and dancing in shows throughout Vermont and New
Hampshire. To pay the rent, he has worked for stints as a teacher, bank teller, roofer, graphic designer, and hostage negotiator. Rick's mission in life is to entertain and help others in whatever ways he can.
He is comfortable being a starving artist because he has so many wonderful
friends in Burlington and beyond and a fantastic family throughout New England,
and he believes that such people are far more important than money. Mr. Ames is a recovered alcoholic, as well as a recovered Catholic. Still spiritual though, he would like to remind his audiences of this: It's not important that you believe in God, so long as you believe in good.
G. Richard Ames (On-air Announcer) is thrilled to
have been a part of Survey Says! since its Burlington Debut in 1998. He has announced,
answered phones, judged, operated sound, recruited contestants, and was even a
contestant himself when certain nameless bozos failed to show for the taping.
