This
club has little of interest besides the trainers to offer,
aside from the Rock-based library. If you've already been
to see Mitch, the Master of the Fighting Club, you'll find
Fighting Club member Chris in the side room here, and seated
at the card table is Matthew- one of the Rock Club members.
Matthew- Hard Pokemon deck Prizes: 4 Win: 2 Mystery boosters
Matthew is fairly easy to beat if you prepared with Grass
Pokemon- most of his are Weak against Grass. He also tends
to get off to a slow start, and often has trouble evolving
his Pokemon. This shouldn't be too tough. Moving on into the
main room, you'll run into Ryan, who will stop carving his
statue long enough to duel with you. Ryan- Excavation deck
Prizes: 3 Win: 2 Evolution boosters Ryan's deck is fairly
typical of Rock decks, except for his use of the Mysterious
Fossil card. He can evolve this Trainer card into Kabuto Lv9,
Aerodactyl Lv28, or Omanyte Lv19. All of these can cause big
trouble for you, so use Gust of Wind to ensure that any Mysterious
Fossils bite the dust quickly. Next up is the rocking Andrew,
probably the toughest opponent you'll face here. Andrew- Blistering
Pokemon deck Prizes: 4 Win: 2 Colosseum boosters Andrew is
smarter than his fellows and has included several Fire Pokemon
in his deck. The Grass types that work so well against Rock
Pokemon are usually Weak against Fire, so you may want to
rely more heavily on Water or Colorless Pokemon for this battle.
Finally, you move on to Gene, the Rock Club Master. Gene-
Rock Crusher deck Prizes: 6 Win: Rock Medal, 2 Mystery boosters
Though Gene fields mostly Rock types, this may be a tough
battle even with a Grass deck. He tends to use Pokemon with
plenty of HP like Onyx Lv12 and Rhyhorn Lv18 as buffers while
he builds up his bench, and he has several heavy-hitters in
his deck. Grass Pokemon and Gust of Wind will serve you well
here. As a reward for all your hard work, you get the Rock
Medal!
