In
the side room, in addition to the bookshelves, PC, and Clerks,
you'll find two interesting fellows. The Chap will tell you
about Ishihara, one of the best Pokemon collectors in the
world. You'll want to visit him later, at his house. The Lad
will offer you an interesting deal once you've collected a
lot of energy cards, but he will only do so once- if you say
no, he leaves, so be ready! He wants energy, and will offer
to trade a Slowpoke Lv9 for all of your energy cards not in
a deck. Before you talk to him, make several decks and put
all but one of your energy cards in them. That way, you only
lose one card and it becomes a good trade for you. If you've
already been to the Fighting Club and talked to the Master
Mitch, Jessica will be waiting to duel you here. Head into
the main room to begin you're dueling. The first member you
run into will be John. John- Anger deck Prizes: 4 Win: 2 Evolution
boosters Anger is an apt name for this deck, as John uses
several Pokemon who have 'rage' attacks- attacks that do more
damage if the Pokemon has taken damage. Your best strategy
here is to try to hit his Pokemon fast, and use Energy Removal
to keep him from building up energy. Next up is Adam, a true
Fire trainer. Adam- Flamethrower deck Prizes: 4 Win: 2 Colosseum
boosters Adam's deck has quite a few heavy hitters, but nearly
all of them are Weak against Water types. Use the same energy
denial tactic you used against John, use early damage-causers
like Staryu and Squirtle, and you should do fine. The last
member before the Master is Jonathan. Jonathan- Reshuffle
deck Prizes: 4 Win: 2 Colosseum boosters Jonathan, like several
other trainers, likes to use Sleep and Paralyze effects to
hold you off until he has powered up his bench. Ruin his day
with Gust of Wind, but be on the lookout for Switch cards,
which he seems to use often. After defeating Jonathan you
move on to Ken, the Fire Club Master. Ken- Fire Charge deck
Prizes: 6 Win: Fire Medal, 2 Mystery boosters Ken likes to
use a lot of Colorless Pokemon, and doesn't use as many Fire
types as you would expect. Even so, use the energy denial
tactic from your earlier duels and rely on Water Pokemon and
you should beat him with no problem. When you do, the Fire
Medal is all yours!
