Working Instructions

The cabinet must be make as per drawing and instructions.

The filing cabinet is to be made with in 19 hours.

The first hour is allowed for checking the wood pieces and studying the drawing, after start working, the competitor cannot allowed make any question and change material.

All the pieces will have to be sanded to receive a polish.

During the fabrication, all the subject’s pieces must have the candidate’s number.

The face markings and setting out of the door and drawer must be handed into the judges for marking (C1 and C2)

Note : on the drawer you only need to set out dovetail on sides or front and back

Before gluing section D-1, D-2,D-3, D-4 and D-5 of the marking scheme must be handed into judges for marking.

all surfaces must be fit for polishing (laquering)

The competitors must keep track of the time themselves time will be stoped only in cases of illness or accident.

The large sircular show are to be us on veneered panels only use smaller circular saw for door and drawer component etc. If the machine in use put your country code on to the waiting list by the machine.

Leave your own measuring equipment (rule etc) on your cabinet at the finish.

On the mitred top and bottom panels you may use loose tongue or lamelo biscuits

Project： The Filing Cabinet

Materials： - Solid Gioi, Plywood. MDF and Sliced Teak Veneers.

Constructions： - This filing cabinet is a traditional and contemporary design.

- It is composed of a box corrected with tenons and mortises.

- The drawer is fitted with dovetail joints.

- The top is composed of a crossed veneered panel and a solid

wood frame.

- The shelve is assembled in its angles with squared joints and the rest with lamello.

-The candidate must leave the tape measure or the ruler she/he

used at the end of the competition.
