We Were Soldiers isn't the best war movie ever made, but it's certainly one of the better ones made and in We Were Soldiers we have quite a drama which works in captivating the audience with powerful imagery which really gets us to care about the characters. There are many types of war movies and while some are meant for entertainment such as the Rambo movies some are made to get under your skin, We Were Soldiers is such a movie which tells a story with striking realism and the experience is compelling although the ending is a let down.
