Virus (1996)

Cast:Brian Bosworth, Chuck Shamata,Leah Pinsent, David Fox

Brian Bosworth stars as a secret service agent who fights to stay alive when he's exposed to a chemical weapon that's been unleashed in his area, along the way mysterious guys are trying to kill him, while Bosworth and Park Ranger Pinsent fight to find a cure in this incoherent and awesomely dull actioner.

This is so bad, that words fail me. I guess I should explain the overall lameness of it's story but that would imply that the people who wrote the script actually took that much time to write one. It's so poorly told that at times were not sure if Bosworth and Pinsent are sure to die or whether them having colds spared them from certain death or if they're just tough enough to take it. Literly a story this thin stretched out into 90 minutes becomes very tedious quick, because there's only so much you can do with this labored premise. It doesn't help either that a lot of the sets look like they were used from Charles Bronson's
Death Wish V which was also directed by Allan A. Goldstein, there Goldstein at least showed competence and spruced up the movie with memorable violence and with a story that was actually rather well acted.  Here Goldstein directs each static situation with such  pretentious camera angles, hysterical acting and foggy directing that the movie just becomes a bore.  Aside from the awkward beginning scene, which gets one to chuckle at the Ed Wood style acting and effects, the movie is just horrible to watch.  What's more Virus wastes a fine performance from Chuck Shamata that gives nothing to do.
