| Telefon (1977) Cast:Charles Bronson,Donald Pleasance,Lee Remick,Tyne Daly Charles Bronson stars as a KGB agent sent by the Russians to wipe out a terrorist who plans on world domination through timebombs which are planted in the heads of unknowing people in this disappointingly poor Bronson effort. Charles Bronson has had a mostly successful career, indeed I'm a Bronson fan and so when I heard from readers that this is one of his best, Naturally I had high hopes alas Telefon is far too dated and tedious to really captivate the audience, Bronson is seriously miscast and the plot doesn't make a lot of sense. If Telefon was any slower it would go backwards, half of the time there is just too much talking and not enough action. That's not to say I was expecting the action level of a Death Wish sequel, I was hoping for suspense and extremely taut moments, unfortunately none of this meets it's potentional and as a whole Telefon doesn't work as well as it should infact it's a complete misfire. Despite what you may have heard, this is one of Bronson's worst. An extreme disappointment as Don Siegel fails to inject this with any energy.. D. Don Siegel * |
