| Sweepers (1998) Cast:Dolph Lundgren,Bruce Payne,Claire Stansfield A minesweeper loses his son due to a mine and calls it a quits, only to be persuaded back in retirement when a new type of mine is created that only his expertise can defuse, to bad he couldn't disfuse this bomb. Sweepers is an unbelievably boring action film which is so poorly made and downright awful, that making it through requires the nerves of steel, that the trailer says Lundgren has. Indeed of all the flicks with Dolph Lundgren, few have been this awesomely dull. I mean where is the action and suspense? Plus the movie then goes for a dash of pretentiousness by actually becoming a message movie! Say what? Also we get the usual cliche of a female expert who is also hot and makes sure to wear black lacy bras and underwear, after all we wouldn't want to leave the teeny boppers unhappy with the lack of anything else. Indeed its hard to come by a more tedious actioner then this, Sweepers is so dull that it just inspires daydreams that even the best sleeping pill can't provide. This is one boring movie, so boring I didn't even laugh at Dolph Lundgren's Indianna Jones act. Well it is pretty obvious why this movie is so terrible and without further notice, I shall now fall asleep. Indeed even thinking about this movie makes me groggy. . D.Darby Black * |
