Surf Ninjas is a movie so bad it inspires the kind of trauma you dream about years later when you think it's out of your head, I saw this movie in theaters and remembered thinking it was one of the worst movies ever made and then I actually had a dream that I was in that same theater and that I was watching this junk again 12 years later! Of course this prompted me to borrow a copy from my nephew and watch it, my thoughts again were that this is without a doubt one of the worst movies ever made. Everything about it is just so ghastly, from it's obvious (and unfunny) jokes to the weak martial arts action which take place, of course it doesn't help that for a kid friendly movie that it's so bloodthristy as Ernie Reyes Jr actually runs over a guy but it's done in a cartoon way so it's okay. Actually the violence itself didn't bother me because I've seen these type of movies done on a much harder level but there has to be something about the movie that actually works. Surf Ninjas is so lifeless that at times it's like watching a nature show. The only thing interesting about the movie is that Kelly Hu actually went on to have a career, as did Rob Scheider and Leslie Neilsen. I pride myself knowing that I never give a movie a "No Stars" rating unless it truly scrapes the bottom of the bin, but this moronic, unfunny, inept and worst of all annoying movie inspires the rating.
