| Superman II (1981) Cast:Christopher Reeve,Margot Kidder,Gene Hackman,Terence Stamp,Sarah Douglas,Jack OHalloran This time Superman does battle with three superbeings that share his powers in this action-packed yet still highly enjoyable sequel which is even more character driven than the first, yet still provides the bang for the buck. True all of this is quite ridiculous as seeing Stamp swat Reeve around with a bus, but the movie has more emotion and explores the love story between Superman and Lois Lane much more then its predecessor, making the characters the number one priorty is what gives Superman II more texture than many other superhero flicks out there. Indeed the climax itself is what really packs the biggest wallop, due to the fact that Superman seems to have met his match here. Such as it is, the complex story frames very well, which contain quite a few strong moments as well as great special effects and nail-biting suspense as the showdown unfolds. True we all know deep down, Superman has to win but that doesn't stop Lester from truly captivating the audience. Once again this is well worth owning, but avoid the sequels after this.
