| Street Fighter (1994) Cast:Jean-Claude Van Damme,Raul Julia,Ming-Na Wen, Byron Mann, Damian Chapa,Kylie Minouge Perfectly awful movie based on a video game has very little of intrest for action movie fans as it concerns Jean-Claude Van Damme as Col. Guile a commando who faces off against Raul Julia a power mad dictator in this painful videogame adaption. Really the only entertaining thing about this movie is Julia's performance; He is excellent in a performance that belongs in another movie. Infact You may root for Julia rather than Van Damme, the only reason Julia took the part was because his kids were fans of the game well he's easily the best thing in a movie this lame, it's just a shame that his final movie was this embarrassing videogame adaption. Van Damme on the other hand is are hero and he is awful in the role, not that this is a surprise. With bleach blond hair and a belgian accent that won't go away, he doesn't sound like an American commadno but what the hell as long as the movie has exciting actionscenes, Right. Wrong. Street Fighter comes up here surprisingly lame, The videogame which all it was, was a tournament gets turned into a full length movie and the story just isn't enough to stretch. The actionscenes are unexciting and dreary making this a dud. Although kids may enjoy it.. D.Steven .E.de Souza *1/2 |
