| The Stone Killer (1973) Cast:Charles Bronson,Martin Balsam,Ralph Waite,John Ritter What a classic Bronson movie this is. The Stone Killer casts Bronson as a cop who ends up going up against sicilian mobsters who are planning a blood-bath in this hard hitting and taut actioner which more then packs a punch thanks to some slick and spectactular action, that being said one must remember that this is somewhat dated, but still worth a look to see Bronson in action. The Stone Killer itself starts out right away almost like Dirty Harry, with Bronson gunning down a 16 year old who is armed and dangerous, his explanation is "The gun made him older" and that basicly sets the tone of this movie which basicly preaches vigilante justice in favor of the "Turn the other cheek approach" still though this is quite effective stuff that hits harder then most cop thrillers. "What hit him?" asks Ralph Waite "A complete state of death!" answers Bronson, which basicly sums up the movie. D.Michael Winner *** |
