Space Rage (1985)

Cast:Richard Farnsworth, Michael Pare, John Loughlin,Lee Purcell

Farnsworth stars as a retired super cop from the future who patrols a prison planet which is now the moon (Somehow they managed a way to implant gravity and air) however when a killer leads a rebellion of the prisoners, Farnsworth finds out he must strap on the ray-guns one more time to do battle in this laughable actioner.

Aside from a few eye-catching production values,
Space Rage is a total disaster. Farnsworth is clearly out of his league as an action hero (I believe this was originally pitched to Charles Bronson) but at least is more tolerable to take then the atrocious acting of Loughlin and Purcell who bring new meaning to the term vacant. Indeed even Pare who has a few moments as the villian of the piece just seems weary by the lame surroundings here. All in all a horrible movie, but a few moments of unintentionally hilarious moments relieve the tedium. Just not enough. D.Conrad E. Palmisano *
