| Sniper 2 (2003) Cast:Tom Berenger,Bokeem Woodbine,Linden Ashby Tom Berenger returns again as Ace-sniper who this time comes out of retirement to take down a target who once again poses a threat to the U.S, as it turns out Berenger's mission is a smokescreen for Woodbine to rescue a writer who's been held prisoner Serbia in this sequel which is on-par with the first. Once again Berenger's charisma is what holds this together, the story itself is very routine and this formula is wearing thin, still as a straight ahead actioner Sniper 2 is still very watchable and indeed well made, all of this is due to the directing of Craig R. Baxley who puts in enough explosions, suspenseful car chases and intense shootouts to make genre fans happy, also Berenger has a Charles Bronson-like charisma which always adds some respectability to the project. While not as intense as Baxley's earlier Under Pressure, Sniper 2 is a cut above most actioners on the rental shelves. D. Craig R. Baxley *** |
