| The Silent Force (2002) Cast: Loren Avedon,Karen Kim,Roger Yuan, Mattius Hues When a commando team (Who's job is to wipe out organized crime) is assassinated by an Asian crime lord the lone survivor of the team join forces with the widow of one of his partners to settle the score. This stylish and well made action flick features Loren Avedon in undoubtedly his best performance to date. The key to making an effective action movie is to have the story shape the action rather then the other way around. The story here is really engrossing and very enjoyable. Loren Avedon has for the most part starred in a lot of sub-par cheapies with little to do but fight the hero and lose but here Avedon's charismatic acting comes in handy because a movie of this particular genre needs a likable hero, in the hands of somebody like Olivier Gruner,Jeff Speakman or even Don "The Dragon" Wilson this movie would register very little impact. As a martial artist Loren Avedon is still very fun to watch and the actionscenes are very exciting. Although The Silent Force is a B.movie, it is is still a cut above most revenge flicks.. David H.
