| Showdown (1993) Cast:Billy Blanks,Patrick Kilpatrick,Ken Scott,Christine Taylor,Brion James,KenMcleod,James Lew Billy Blanks star as a janitor who teaches the new kid martial arts when bullies beat the snot out of him leading to a tournament. Blanks is top notch as the sensei and the action is rather well staged especially the Kilpatrick/Blanks showdown otherwise this "Karate Kid " clone doesn't have much to offer.... Entertaining and slickly shot the movie builds atmosphere around the ultimate highschool from hell and the beginning looks like it may go somewhere in a different direction which would have been better then redoing the "Karate Kid" over and over again.....Not a bad movie though and is certainly worth a look for fans of the charismatic (yet bad actor)star.
