| Resident Evil (2001) Cast:Milla Jovovich,Michelle Rodriguez,Eric Mabius Just when you thought video-game adaptions couldn't get any worse...a mind-numbingly awful pot-boiler comes along to insure that indeed they do get worse. This senseless nonsense has Jovovich as some kind of army chick who is sent in with a group of soldiers to shut down a system called "Red Queen" which kills a group of people in a chemical plant (Or something?) but it turns out "Red Queen" was doing it for their good, since the chemical agent has escaped and zombies are crawling all over the place, now the soldiers must kill them in this sloppy junk. It's bad enough when producers try and merge the genre of action and horror together but Resident Evil doesn't only do this (Quite badly) but it also contains the most irritating soundtrack as well as an annoying "hip" attitude which sucks any sense of enjoyment that can be had from watching such a mindless bone-cruncher like this. Bad editing and uninspired actionscenes furthermore transcend what little enjoyment left. Truly an awful moment in action/horror cinema. D.Paul W. Anderson * |
