| Red Sonja (1985) Cast:Brigette Neilsen, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Sandahl Bergman, Paul L. Smith, Ernie Reyes Jr. Neilsen and Schwarzenegger team up in Red Sonja a lifeless sword and sorcery flick that isn't disappointing for the usual reasons, it's disappointing because it just isn't very exciting. Neilsen plays Sonja a warrior who swears revenge on Bergman after the brutal attack on her village which leaves her sister dead, Schwarzenegger is Kalidor a Conan-like warrior who aides her in her journey for revenge. Red Sonja is just plain boring, the actionscenes are very poorly staged and Reyes is truly irritating as the boy prince who helps out Sonja. Most of the time the movie just doesn't have any energy to get to point A to B. Making Red Sonja the worst of all of Schwarzenegger's Sword and Sorcery movies. D.Richard Fleischer * |
