Raging Angels (1995)

Cast:Sean Patrick Flanery, Michael Pare, Diane Ladd, Monet Mazur

The (awful) soundtrack blasts "To hell with the devil!" but in regards to this movie, I say to hell with the movie. This loopy yet excruciatingly dull would-be thriller finds a musician (Flanery) join forces with a nun to bring down Satan (Pare) of course along the way there's lots of singing and incoherent gibberish which somehow passes for a story.

I like Michael Pare, I really do, but for goodness sake get this guy a new agent. That goes double for Diane Ladd in which they play without a doubt two of the most ridiculous characters they ever played in their long careers, Of course Ladd and Pare are easily the best things about this dire nonsense.  Flanery is hardly convincing as a would be alcoholic musican and Mazur is even worse, making these two such stupid teens that one wonders why Ladd and Pare would waste their time with them in the first place. Being that this was a christian production, I knew not to expect much and really this was much worse than I thought it would be.  Also it's kind've weird to see a production which features sex scenes as well as the Golden Earring ballad "Twilight Zone" especially since that little ditty is about suicide.   I'm in indifferent to such matters and therefore I was offended only by the lack of entertainment provided by this deadly dull thriller.   Just when you think things can't get any worse, Michael Pare shows up and sings a power ballad, which sadly is the best song of the movie.
