Paparazzi (2004)
Cast:Cole Hauser, Tom Sizemore,Robin Tunney,Daniel Baldwin,Chris Rock

Cole Hauser plays an actor who is harassed by the paparazzi until he finally decides to fight back and kill them all, after they cause an accident which hurts Hauser's family in this action-free actioner which fails on almost all levels to be entertaining trash.

The problem with this snooze-fest is not the premise, certainly the idea is dumb enough to be fun, but that the producers are actually taking it seriously and trying to turn it into a drama and on that level it simply is too ridiculous. For instance how can an actor get away with slaughtering members of the press, yet completely get backlashed for punching one of them out?  All of this is amplified by the event that Hauser himself doesn't really come off as imposing as he should. For a guy driven by vengeance he certainly is too dull for the role. The part needs someone like Treat Williams or Michael Pare , guys that can amplify a nice guy persona yet shed it at a seconds notice and kick ass. If there was one highlight to
Paparazzi is Sizemore's performance which is very good, whenever on screen he's able to almost make the movie come to life, unfortunately it's not often enough. Still even though Sizemore and Baldwin for that matter add swagger to their one-note parts, Paparazzi just isn't fun enough to be worth watching. D.Paul Abascal *
