| P.O.W:The Escape (1986) Cast:David Carradine, Mako,Steve James David Carradine returns to Vietnam to rescue P.O.W's from a sadistic soldier who wants to defect to the U.S in this reasonable bodycount flick that is slightly better then Missing In Action 2 but pales in comparison to Rambo:First Blood Part II. David Carradine has made a somewhat prolific career in the action market, no doubt because of his presence on the show Kung Fu, unforunately because of this market nobody really remembers that David Carradine is a good actor who made the excellent Bound For Glory, it's not to say however that David Carradine was slumming it's just that because he had such a desire to work that he didn't care about the quality, a deadly combo is an actor who chooses quanity over quality, and that leaves with P.O.W:The Escape a typical genre piece that has no real things to stand out from the genre, the actionscenes are adequate and Steve James is aboard which never hurts, but the movie is far too generic. Fans of the genre should find this flick mildly diverting, even if it's not very exciting. D.Gideon Amir ** |
