| Mercenary 2:Thick and Thin (1998) Cast:Olivier Gruner,Robert Townsend,Claudia Christian Gruner stars in this unexciting sequel , in which Gruner is hired on another mission, where is duped again, although Mercenary 2 has enough action to satisfy action fans, has little intrest to anyone else. Indeed to even say that Mercenary 2 is sloppy, is to be a compliment, because the movie is so predictable , and the chemistry between Townsend and Gruner is lacking, a few good actionscenes relieve the tedium but Mercenary 2 suffers from too many long stretches to really succeed as a bodycount actioner. And the movie juggles far too many sub-plots. Some merit can be found in Mercenary 2, and indeed enough to earn a two star rating, but simple fact remains that, this is for Olivier Gruner fans and has little appeal beyond that.
