| Memorial Day (2000) Cast:Jeff Speakman,Fredrick Coffin,Martin Sheen Speakman stars as Edward Downey a soldier turned assassin brainwashed into killing a politician for the government to make a martyr for the "cause". Sans rhyme and reason, although for a Jeff Speakman flick it's not too bad, those looking for a standard conspiracy movie will be satisfied. This mediocre actionflick fails to bring anything new to the genre but makes for a decent enough time passer that has some excellent actionscenes and a decent villian played by Coffin. Indeed the real problem with Memorial Day is it's mundane plot that has been told before a hundred times, although routine, Speakman fans will enjoy the hijinks of this standard actioner. Overall though this is mediocre stuff, it's plot threads are all by the book and really it's far too routine for it's own good, one sould look to Jeff Speakman's t The Perfect Weapon or The Expert for those have a better then average script however this Speakman flick never really registers any impact and is only a mindless rental at best.D.Worth Keeter ** |
