| Meltdown (1997) Cast:Jet Li,Jackie Cheung Jet Li stars as a bodyguard who must save a group of hostages from a maniac who lives by the saying "No Risk No Reward" and a martial arts action moviestar also must find the strength to fight a lummox(Terrorists Main henchman) Not great by any standard but some of the action scenes provide enough rewards for actionmovie fanatics,Just not enough to break any new ground. This is really a lamer Jet Li movie compared to his other classics, this is a huge disappointment that while never boring doesn't capture the mean edge of Kiss Of The Dragon or the jaw dropping actionscenes of Jet Li's The Legend. Meltdown is a more of a let down if anything. Still Jet Li fans will find a lot to like as the actionscenes are well handled and some of the humor is funny (although mostly lame) For everyone else in search of mindless action this may also be a decent watch, but remember that's all it is. Plus the editing is distracting and the Li seems to be doing it by the numbers. D.Wong Jing ** |
