| Kickboxer 4:The Aggressor (1994) Cast:Sasha Mitchell,Kamel Krifa,Thom Mathews, Nicholas Guest,Jill Pierce,Brad Thornton, Deborah Mansy Sasha Mitchell has all the right moves in Kickboxer 4:The Aggressor which has him reprising his role of David Sloan who goes undercover for the DEA to bring long-time nemesis Tong Po to justice, Sloan himself also has a score to settle, as Po set him up on a bum-rap as well as the fact that he's kidnapped Sloan's wife Vicki (Mansy) in this better than average Mitchell actioner. It's hard to believe that Sasha Mitchell would indeed churn out a series that started out with two martial arts greats Jean-Claude Van Damme and Dennis Alexio, Sasha Mitchell didn't start out as an action star, but with the Kickboxer series he's managed to carve out a slight following, that or people really liked him from Step By Step, in anycase Kickboxer 4 emerges as the best sequel due to it's energy..Sure Kickboxer 4 has macho melodrama and lame acting from the cast (Get a load of Krifa's make up that tries to make him look Asian.) but Kickboxer 4 goes back to the winning formula that made the first one such a classic, it contains lots of ass-kicking which make up for the fact that the story itself isn't really all that believable, that being said though Kickboxer 4 represents a vast improvement over it's two predecessors, once again thanks to a lot of good fight choreography as well as some better than average production values. Kickboxer 4 maybe a little silly but it rarely has a slow moment and basically it's better than it had any right to be. . D.Albert Pyun*** |
