Aces:Iron Eagle III (1992)

Cast:Louis Gossett Jr., Rachel McGlish, Sonny Chiba, Horst Bucholtz,Mitch Ryan,Juan Fernendez

This time Chappy (Gossett Jr.) and a band of ace pilots  from World War II help Rachel McGlish fly into Columbia to fight the drug war and prove that they still have it them in this atrocious sequel which lacks anything that made the first two even qualify as dumb fun, instead Aces:Iron Eagle III is just plain old dumb with only one (unintentionally) hilarious moment.

What can you say when we are ripping of
Delta Force 2?  However as lame as this is, this didn't stop Norris' Firewalker co-star, Gossett from signing on to do this deeply stupid and utterly lame sequel. The aviation scenes themselves are okay but the fact that they are going up against fighter jets and they are using the same planes used, they used in World War II make this too ridiculous for words. For one thing this would put everybody in the 70's age range and the fact that they are going up against young druglords, this doesn't convince even for a microsecond.  More disappointing is the use of Sonny Chiba who was superbad-ass in the Street Fighter series, now relegated to a wussified pilot looking to regain his honor. Say what?  Louis Gossett Jr puts forth no effort and the villains come hand picked from the assembly line. It's bizarre that a movie could star so many talented actors (Excepting McGlish) and yet come up as utterly worthless. That unintentionally hilarious moment, you ask. Well it takes place during a gunfight in which our old fart heroes  are shooting it out with druglords, however one druglord is killed due to an explosion in a church which causes the bell to fly off and hit him square in the head, killing him instantly.  Guess he wasn't saved by the bell.
