| Instant Justice (1986) Cast:Michael Pare, Charles Napier,Tawny Kitaen Pare stars as a marine who fights drug lords responsible for the murder of his sister in this action packed drama which skimps on the character development but delivers more bang for the buck than many other bodycount style actioners such as this. I didn't have much hope for this but Instant Justice was more enjoyable than I expected. It's predictable, follows a strict formula and above else sacrifices character for a kick to the head, in other words it delivered exactly what it promised. Mainly a strong/silent hero who beats up a lot of bad guys without once breaking a sweat. Pare as always gives a reasonable tough guy performance but really the predictability often adds to the enjoyment. Sure there are thinks that don't always make sense and half the time the movie is pretty dumb but as usual it's fun to watch Michael Pare kick ass. The actionscenes are well choreographed and as a whole the movie entertains in that dumb-actioner type of way..What more can you ask for? D.Craig T. Rumar *** |
