| The Hologram Man (1995) Cast:Evan J. Lurie,Joe Lara,Michael Nouri,William Smith,Tommy "Tiny" Lister Jr., John Amos A revolutionary (Lurie), is caught by a cop and turned into a hologram and escapes from prison in hologram form where nothing can stop him, except for a rengade cop (Lara) If anything else The Hologram Man may boast what is the most ridiculous premise ever for a movie. All of what a hologram is, is a 3D digital image, hardly the powerful force to be reckoned with what the movie wants us to believe. However for some reason the movie leaves reality so far behind that you almost have to buy it on it's own stupid levels. It really is something to watch though. When I tell you that the climax involves two holograms fighting each other, I mean that at this point the wise viewer is laughing at the overall surreal surroundings, Although i'm not 100% that's what the producers were aiming for. Not that it matters Hologram Man is so ridiculous and unbelievably hilarious that it just gets by on the heckle factor. Of course when talking about the quality one can't help but shake their head at the ineptitude involved here. D.Joseph Merhi |
