| Half Past Dead (2002) Cast:Steven Seagal,Morris Chestnut,Ja Rule,Claudia Christian,Nia Peebles Steven Seagal plays a Russian FBI agent who is undercover trying to nab a mobster however when thugs take over the prison where he is held and take hostages and make demands, Seagal and his fellow inmates decide to fight fire with fire, in this surprisingly underrated and fun Seagal actioner. Half Past Dead is hardly the terrible movie most critics made out, sure it would have played better on video rather then on the big screen, but compared to other actionflicks, let alone Seagal flicks, I'd have to rate his latest as his best in quite some time. Sure it's plot is generic, but the actionscenes are nicely chreographed and the movie has a brisk pace making it one of Seagal's most enjoyable flicks since Under Siege 2, and the director thankfully never has Seagal try a Russian accent, a stroke of genius on the director's part..
