Eye Of The Tiger (1986)

Cast:Gary Busey, Yaphet Kotto, Seymour Cassel, William Smith, Judith Barsi, Kimberly Brown, Ted Markland

A Vietnam vet just out of the slammer returns to the small town where he lived and finds himself taking on a group of killer bikers, who swear vengeance when Busey protects a nurse from being raped, Busey tries to keep a cool head by just leaving town but when these bikers kill his wife and kidnap his daughter, it's time for Busey to find his killer instinct and teach these bikers a lesson in manners, in this entertaining actioner.

As far as these things go, this one gets by merely by momentum.
Eye Of The Tiger never slows down for you to think about the silly plot or the surreal action that takes place on the screen, indeed Busey is quite effective in the role and his vigilante act really convinces. The main problem with Eye Of The Tiger of course is that things get just a tad too silly such as the climax when Kotto is dropping bombs out of his plane, as well as the part where the bikers dig up Busey's wife and put it on his footstep, once again it's a moment that is more surreal than anything else. Still though when Busey starts arming himself to the teeth with various guns to pull a Commando styled climax, Eye Of The Tiger becomes quite enjoyable. D.Richard C. Sarafian***
