| Exit The Dragon, Enter The Tiger (1976) Cast:Bruce Li,Yi Chang, Kang Kam Bruce Li plays dual roles as Bruce Lee and as Bruce Lee's best friend, of course when Bruce Lee is killed by mobsters and Betty Teng Pai is kidnapped Bruce Li springs into action and fights the usual type of guys in this chop socky flick which is often quite awkward. The production values are among the best they've ever been in a Bruce Li flick and yet with the bigger budget than usual the results are no better or worse than what you would expect. The thing that is often fascinating about this movie (and really there isn't much at all that is interesting) is the stance on Betty Teng Pai who was most likely Lee's mistress. Also the controversy concerning how it took her two hours to get help for Bruce Lee and much much more. I of course am no conspiracy nut as I believe that Lee died from an allergic reaction to asprin. He really had nobody after him and so this type of stuff is all awkward.. So in the way Betty Tang Pai was presented as being captured and grieving over Bruce Lee, one wonders if they ever thought that she was his mistress and where this left Linda Lee. Also Tang Pai by all respects was among the first to jump on the bandwagon to get herself in the papers after Lee's untimely death so making her a tragic figure is quite laughable at best. As for the movie itself, the action sequences are okay but often shot in the dark or in a place where it's hard to see what's going on. The Bruce Lee angle can be seen truly as exploitive and basically isn't very well handled. That being said I wasn't offended just more fascinated by how tasteless the movie often is. The movie itself isn't very good and it's not one of Li's best. That being said it maybe of interest to Bruce Lee fans (ones who like Bruceploitation) and old school kung fu flicks but I for one was indifferent to this movie and couldn't care less.
