| Crash Dive (1996) Cast:Michael Dudikoff, Frederic Forrest, Catharine Bell Michael Dudikoff stars as a lone wolf soldier who stands in the way between Russian terrorists from launching some kind of chemical weapon on the U.S in this unbelievably wooden and utterly tedious groan-fest which features Dudikoff seemingly bored with the material. Back in Dudikoff's classic days, Dudikoff always had a look of stoic intensity in all of his roles, however now with this leaden dud, Dudikoff proves to be even sleepier than usual, for a guy who has to save the world and kick ass, he doesn't seem that willing to command the screen. Dudikoff is often so disinterested with this project his performance ranks down with his tired turn in American Ninja 4. Still that being said Dudikoff is at least a better actor than Lorenzo Lamas and Don "The Dragon" Wilson and his presence is at least tolerable, but the movie is far too dull to enjoy. Crash Dive lacks suspense, grit and excitement. If Dudikoff seems bored so do the rest of the cast who all turn in disinterested performances, especially Forrest. The best thing said about this sub-par actioner is that Andrew Stevens does do a competent job directing, but overall this movie sinks instead of swims. D.Andrew Stevens *1/2 |
