| The Corruptor (1999) Cast:Chow Yun Fat,Mark Wahlberg,Brian Cox Mediocre movie tries to tug at your heartstrings and thrill you with action scenes and does neither. It's a disappointingly by the book cop actioner that Seagal would make. Still The Corruptor has a few points of interest making it essential for CYF fans. The Corruptor is far too lukewarm to be considered groundbreaking. Some good moments make a mindless rental at best. All of this was handled much better in the underrated Mickey Rourke actioner Year Of The Dragon, still though The Corruptor doesn't emerge as badly as The Replacement Killers, and the actionscenes are well executed. It's just too bad the potentional here is wasted on such a mediocre effort. CYF fans will certainly enjoy it though. D.James Foley ** |
