| Bruce Li In New Guinea (1978) Cast:Bruce Li,Chen Sing, Bolo Yeung Bruce Li stars as an archeologist (yes, I'm serious) who travels to a distant land and battles a sorcerer and saves a princess in the process while of course looking to find a mystical pearl from a place called "Serpent Island", also one can't tell if Bruce Li and the princess have a relationship prior to him looking for this mystical pearl (As the princess all of a sudden is pregnant with Li's child) or what the hell is going on? There's even a kung fu fighting ape that helps Bruce Li out. Yet despite all of this cheesiness Bruce Li In New Guinea is fairly entertaining. The fight sequences are pretty good, the princess is sort of hot and like Fantasy Mission Force, this movie is line for line diabolically insane. In fact i've yet to see a movie that is so strange. A sorcerer who is jealous of Bruce Li and wants to kill the baby, Bruce Li being injured and being nursed back to health by the princess and basically Bruce Li fighting numerous tribal warriors sent by said sorcerer. All of this of course is not for the average viewer but for fans of silly and really surreal kung fu movies should get a kick out of this one. I know I still can't believe what I saw. D.C.Y Yang *** |
