| The Bodyguard (1976) Cast:Sonny Chiba,Sue Shiomi, Aaron Banks, Bill Louie Sonny Chiba as a vigilante who takes on drug pushers and protects a witness in the process in this routine and non-too exciting martial arts actioner which takes far too long to get going and offers not much of anything when it does. It's hard to watch a movie like The Bodyguard in that it is so routine and so predictable that all we do is wait for the next action sequence and of course as these things go the action is poorly staged and Chiba who is almost always charismatic seems to be bored with the material. Likewise kung fu fans will find themselves impatient waiting for the next action sequence. The movie is pretty much a waste of time except for Chiba fans who will stick with him through anything.
