Bloodsport III (1997)

Cast Daniel Bernhardt,Noriyuki Pat Morita,James Hong

When his mentor(James Hong) is killed by a ruthless promoter, Daniel Bernhardt chops his way through a kumite for vengeance in this unbelievably dull entry which is so poorly made, badly shot that even the poorly choreographed fightscenes fail to safe this bore.

Bloodsport became a genre classic, which was nothing more but a simple connect the dots tournament chop socky actioner which was rather enjoyable, Bloodsport II while not as good also worked on it's own level. Now comes the lowest point of the series, a movie so devoid of entertainment that it feels like it runs backwards. Indeed there just isn't enough fighting for this sequel, it's simply more slop talky than chop socky. As inert as the story is, nothing goes on forever quite like the training scenes which are sleep inducing, which find Bernhardt training with his former mentor's brother. All of this is made even worse due to it being told from flashback point of view, which drains all possible suspense. However some good actionscenes could've at least made this somewhat watchable, but unfortunately this are repetitive and badly staged it just adds up to the overall failure this sequel really is. If you really like a good fightflick rent one of the predecessors. D.Alex Mehrez
