| Bloodfist VIII:Hard Way Out (1998) Cast:Don "The Dragon" Wilson,John Patrick White,Jillian McWhirtier,Warren Burton The series improves with this semi entertaining actioner about troublemaker teen (White) finding out that his dad is a Ex-C.I.A agent(Wilson) who is being targeted for termination by his superiors in this standard sequel which tries to appeal to Wilson's younger fans. . Filmed in Ireland this sequel is a marked improvement over the lame Fist 6 and 7 as this one has some nifty actionscenes and some stylish directing, however the plot is run of the mill, with Wilson kicking and chopping his way through hundreds of minions. Indeed the location is what makes this watchable, where as Fist 6 and 7 felt like they were filmmed in a hollywood backdrop, # 8 at least has a more ambitious look. While this is amusingly watchable, it fails to really stick out from other titles on the shelf. It's a standard action movie, nothing more, nothing less. D.Rick Jacobson ** |
