| Ablaze (2001) Cast:John Bradley,Michael Dudikoff,Ice-T,Tom Arnold When an oil-rig blows up, and causes a disaster of biblical proportions, a group of firemen come to the rescue in this soggy, unexciting disaster flick, which is even more ridiculous by casting Tom Arnold as the main bad guy. Indeed, with this movie I went in with low expectations, and for good reason, this is a bad movie, but not unwatchable, some unintentional laughs and some high energy rescue sequences relieve the tedium a little, but Tom Arnold as a the anal-rententive bad guy is a huge minus, as is the casting of Ice-T as a police dectective, however a problem with the movie is the lack of action and groan inducing cliches, The pregnant woman who (Obviously) gives birth to a baby girl during the storm, and other cliches bog the movie down. Ablaze has it's moments, but it's mainly for fans of the genre or fans of the 4 stars of the movie. D.Jim Wynorski ** |
