Dear Everyone,
Hello! It has been a long time since I've heard from everybody. I am so happy to be able to communicate with many of my friends again. Let me now tell you how I have been the last 24 years and where I stand in this old age (joke!)
I am now living here in Cranston, Rhode Island. How did I get here? It's the Seamen's ship that pushed its way to dock in this small state; the smallest state in the Union. I got off and found myself liking the surroundings of America. It was then when I decided to stay. I was not sure if it was a bad move or not, but I did.
A year later, I met this lady at one of the parties I attended. She caught my attention and felt infatuated with her. Her name is Shirley. She's petite, pretty, and smart. Those are the first impressions I had of her; and to this day she truly is. I liked her the very first time I met her. She was very kind and understanding about everything in my past. It took me a while to win her heart. It took three long years. Finally, we were married in 1990. The rest is history.
We had our first child in on March 29, 1993 (my birthday!). We named her Joshley. Our second child is Joyell, born on January 5, 1996. The youngest, our boy, Jondrey was born on March 29, 1997 (again, my birthday!) How coincidental is that? Yes! Two of my children were born on my birth date. Should you need any coaching on that, I am here! I felt really blessed to have met my wife Shirley and to have started a family with her. I have worked in many trades there possibly is, until I settled with my present job. I am now Material Processor IV in one of the leading metal finishing companies in New England.
I wish I could say that life has been good and always up but trials and tribulations were there to strike me. After buying our new home in 1994, I was put on the Dialysis! Yes! My kidney had failed. I almost died. If I were in the Philippines I would probably be dead by now. Thanks for the new technology here. I survived 3 to 4 years of Dialysis. That was the biggest test of my life. For these long years I survived, physically and mentally all the inconveniences and the agonizing pain of the treatment. It was almost endless. I was immediately put on a waiting list for a kidney transplant. In 1998, I had my transplants.
With the help of the Almighty and my family, I did recover. I am truly grateful to God and my wonderful wife. I am grateful that I was given a second chance. I was given a new Life! It has been 2 years and besides being a "Walking Pharmacy" with all the medications I carry, I am doing fine. I am now able to accomplish many things and spend a lot of precious time with my loved ones. I have a good job and life has become comfortable again.
Well, I guess I have said too much. Thank you so much for reading my line. LINE! This is a BOOOOK!
I hope to see you all here in the US or in the Philippines.
Goodbye,
Joey
