| DPA 76-A HOSTS THE FIRST GET-TOGETHER OF BATCH 76 | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Twenty-four so many years had passed and members of the DPA Batch'76 met for the first time. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
| After almost two months of preparation, the Class 76-A hosted the first get together of the DPA Batch '76, of which 71 members attended. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
| The invitations to the first general meeting/get-together were mailed in February. Unfortunately not all reached each member mainly because the organizing committee did not have the present and accurate addresses of some of the members. Aside from the invitation letters sent, the organizing committee made rounds for three weekends to reach the members in person. These rounds did help a lot to encourage the other members to attend. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
| A new set of officers was elected (see attached) and discussion on fund raising activities among others was raised. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Several parlor games were prepared though time did not permit the class to conduct them, as the room they were in has no lights. The room was already dark at past 6PM and they could hardly see each other. There you go! There's' one project for the Batch. How could a meeting room/classroom possibly not have any electric power/connections? | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
| To get rid of the prizes for the games, they decided to raffle them off. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Anyway, their mission was accomplished. With the new set of officers and with the next scheduled meeting of all officers and coordinators on May 7, 2000, they all believe that they would have more concrete plans for the silver anniversary. Top on the list of priorities is to update the address and contact numbers of each member, in the Philippines and abroad, as soon as possible. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Though the members who attended were less than expected, the interest each of them showed was enough to inspire the organizing team, to move forward. Pictures were taken during the affair and will be published in our next update. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
