CHEERFUL THOUGHT - Sev.tet.EE.RE.25"5" [ESPERANZA X MAY SEVENTY-EIGHT] CHEERFUL THOUGHT is a bright, lightly ruffled, floriferous, bold golden orange-yellow self with a golden orange throat, which blooms about a week later than H. Dumortieri here, providing abundant bloom at a time when few hems flower. Blossoms open rather flat, are up-facing, and placed on strong stems with 4-way branching. Another advantage is that a second wave of scapes often appears shortly after the first ones emerge, giving a longer bloom period. Repeat bloom is even more reliable South of Pennsylvania. Rapid increase. Good landscaper. Bud count = 21.......Fall Delivery......Double Fans.......$7.00

GODZILLA - Dor.tet.M.36"8"(petals 1.8" sepals 1") [Ratio=3.2:1] [JADE BOWL X ORIENTAL SUNRISE] Huge, spidery tetraploid, an orange-red with potential for breeding tet spiders. The orange-red petals have yellow midribs and the heart of the flower is deep green, turning to yellow in the throat, and the same yellow color extends out one third of the way on the sepals, forming a 3 pointed star on them. Petals recurve only slightly on warm days, sepals more so. Form is flatter on cooler days. This cultivar is very striking and splashy in clump strength. Pollen fertile/sets pods when established. Potential for breeding tet spider types.
Fall Delivery......Very Limited .......SOLD OUT FOR 2007

KIRSTEN MY LOVE - Dor.tet.RE.32"40",8"-9",[ORANGE BOUNTY X RAINBOW GOLD] KIRSTEN MY LOVE is a big, bold, and splashy golden yellow flower, heavily diamond dusted, and simply gorgeous in a clump. This huge, golden yellow self is a showstopper with a green heart. The big plants are perfect for accent planting, the back of the border, fence rows, or where height is needed. Visitors gravitate to this cultivar. A second wave of scapes may emerge 2-3 weeks later, giving a long period of bloom. Petals are piecrust edged and recurve slightly, while sepals recurve a bit more. Sometimes the petals will twist or pinch slightly, giving the highly attractive, splashy look to their ruffled edges. This cultivar makes big fans. It’s pollen fertile, but a reluctant pod parent. Fall delivery...Double Fans...$15.00

MY VALENTINE'S SECRET - Dor.dip.M.28"6.5" [CHARLOTTE RHAME X APPARITION] The creamy white-greenish-beige flowers sport a startling rosy purple eyezone. Petals are lightly ruffled on big, commanding flowers of good substance. On cool days, the flower opens flat and dramatic, while on warmer days, it will recurve more. When flat, the eye is triangular with a hint of a heart about it. (4-way branching)

Flowers are full, and somewhat triangular. Rapid increase. An excellent landscaper.

1986 INTRODUCTIONS

LITTLE RED SPIDER - Branham-Burkey,dor.dip.M.28"5" [Sdlg. X CRAWLEYCROW] This dark ruby red, spidery flower with a green heart is a sparkling jewel in the garden and a favorite. Its sterling qualities are its bright, almost luminous sunfast color, and spidery charm. A luscious garden subject, but infertile for me. Petals are slightly ruffled and recurve slightly on a generally open form. It is a spidery gem with super qualities, good increase, and occasional proliferation. Bud count = 15.
Fall delivery......DOUBLE FANS....$10..00

MAGNIFICENT EYES - Branham-Burkey,dor.dip.LM. to L. here.26"5.75" [Sdlg. X SHADED EYES] An exciting maroon eyezone accentuates the beauty of this clear, light yellow flower with a green heart. The sepals recurve somewhat more than the petals, giving a triangular appearance. Highly diamond dusted, the petals overlap at the base and fold back against the sepals. There is some proliferation on the 3-way branched scapes. Blossoms are spaced so that the bloom season is fairly long. The flower opens early and well where nights are not too cold. Increase is very rapid, making it an excellent landscaper. Bud count = 22
Fall delivery.......TRIPLE FANS.......$8.00
