CRIMSON ENIGMA - # 2000-17  dor. diploid. MLa.44” 7.5” Truly and Enigma is this bright velvety crimson self with a huge yellow throat covering a third of the flower, and turning to green in the bottom  fourth.  CRIMSON ENIGMA has many faces, enough to prevent it from being placed in a definite category.  Sometimes it is a Pinched Crispate or a highly recurved flower.  What is most interesting about it  is the petal midribs,  which instead of being single, are often double and raised. From these double track midribs petal appendages or crests often extend upwards and to the side.  Sometimes the cresting occurs on one petal, sometimes on two, but when it occurs on all three, it becomes an exotically gorgeous cockscomb.  It cant’ be classed as a UF or a Double, but I  hope to try to fix and establish this trait to achieve 100% consistent cresting.  Fertile both ways.  2-Way branching with a bud count of 12.  The parentage is not known with certainty because tags got up heaved during the winter, but it may be

DREAMING BUTTERFLIES - # 95-28  dor.dip.ML.34” 6” Bright light butter  yellow self with light green throat, is this charmer in an Unusual Form Spatulate,  reminding one of hovering butterflies.  All segments have a tendency to recurve, and the segments are very narrow at the center of the flower.  Fertile both ways.

LADY IN VELVET - # 97-32  dor.dip.M.27” 9” The color on this one is a bit difficult to describe, but similar to a reddish magenta blend with a huge chartreuse green throat, and a halo-band of slight darker reddish magenta.  LADY  IN VELVET is an Unusual Form Cascade.  Because of the size of the flowers, it creates quite a visual impact. 2-Way branching.  Bud count = 13.

WOODLAND SPRITE - #  95-40  dor.diploid. Mla.26” - 30”  7” This ruffled Unusual Form Cascade is a yellowish cream with rosy lavender petals and petal edges.  The rosy lavender color is more intensified on the petal edges and tips.  It is the same with the sepals except they are not as deep in this color, making it a bitone.  The throat is green. 2-Way branching with a bud count of 22
