ELFIN DAYDREAM - # 88-19. Dor.Dip.M.37"7" [SCARLET GOWN X FELLOW] This serene, dreamy, and somewhat spidery looking EXOTIC FORM is a rich, medium light lavender with a huge chartreuse throat that forms a six pointed star. The flower opens flat on cool days, but recurves on hot days. Petals are lightly ruffled. Bud count = 15. Fall Delivery...Double Fans....$25.00

MADELINE HEEDEN ABDALLAH - # 89-62. Dor.Tet.M.24"6" [POOGIE X CHICAGO APACHE] This hem is a gorgeous, ruffled, deep rose pink self varying between the shades of VERA BIAGLOW and JESSE JAMES here. The very tiny throat is yellow, turning to a green heart. Petals are rounded and well overlapped. It opens flat in cooler weather, but will recurve more and show even more ruffling in hot weather. PHOEBE HINES LINK - # 90-61. Dor.Tet.M.36"6" [PROM DATE X CHAMPAGNE ROYALE] This enchanting cultivar is a light purple and light lavender bitone. Its lighter purple watermark eyezone is encircled by a fine deeper purple line. Beneath the eye, the upper throat becomes a narrow bright yellow, turning into deep green throat. Actually the flower is banded, but it is not always seen on the sepals. The ruffled petals have a yellow wire edge. Bud count = 12+. RED BUTTERFLY - # 88-62. Dor.Tet.LM.38"6" [LUSTY LEALAND X RUBY THROAT] Very bright red is this tailored, simple flower with a green throat that blooms later in the season, extending it, and thus providing excellent garden value. It opens flat on cool days, but will recurve on hot days. The sturdy scapes are branched four ways. It should be planted in the back of the border, along a fence row, where height is needed, or as an accent plant. Bud count = to 25. SNOWY NIGHT - # 90-49. Dormant.Dip.M.22"5" [JOAN SENIOR X MARTHA ADAMS] SNOWY NIGHT is a lovely, very nicely and tightly ruffled near white with some lemon highlights. The throat is warm yellow color further out, and then develops into a deep green heart. Both petals and sepals are nicely ruffled. 3-way branching. Bud count = 16. Rapid Increase.

1995 INTRODUCTIONS

ARACHNIDAN TRAP - # 90-22. Dor.Dip.37"9"EM.[LAKE NORMAN SPIDER X FELLOW] Gorgeous, strong lavender EXOTIC FORM with large yellow throat extending 1/3rd out on the Petaloids forming a 6 pointed star. The yellow throat compliments the lavender color. This is really an aberrant form, but it looks like a spider because the sepals curl sideways and slightly back, while the petals are pinched and recurve slightly. It is the rolling sepals that give the arachnid look. Sun resistant, with 3-way branching. B.C.= 17.

DOROTHY BURKEY CONRAD - # 89-9. Hardy Evergreen here,Tet.26"6"M.[HOLIDAY DELIGHT X LEEBEA ORANGE CRUSH] Bright, lightly ruffled, gold flower with smashing, large red eyezone and green throat. Petals overlap, scapes are erect. Sepals recurve, petals recurve on warm days slightly. B.C. = 11. Much admired by garden visitors. LAURA ABDALLAH - # 89-37. Dor.Dip.26"2.5" ML.[SILOAM BO PEEP X SILOAM RIBBON CANDY] Lovely, floriferous, moderately ruffled, somewhat creped, miniature daylily with a very high bud count. The color is muted rose with a striking, large deep purple eyezone and a deep green throat. Petals and sepals recurve giving a comely rounded appearance. Four-way branching with heavy substance, a great bud count, and a long bloom season. B.C. = 30 here. Good increaser.

LOURICE ABDALLAH - # 89-19. Dor.Dip.30"5"EM.[(CANTIQUE X JOYFUL OCCASION) X STARMAN'S GIFT] Beautiful pink self with chartreuse throat. Quite pink, rarely the slightest hint of lavender may show. Flowers are full and widespread, overlapped, slightly recurved, and sun resistant with 3-way branching. B.C. = 17. Bud spacing makes for long bloom season.
