Abstract. The results presented in a recent paper (Jefimenko O D 1997 Eur. Phys. 18 444-7) are erroneous. They arise from precisely the mistake the authors claims to avoid: the incorrect transformation of electromagnetic fields and sources between frames of reference in relative motion.
