Howden Ganley's Grand Prix career spanned four years from his debut in 1971 to just the two South American races in 1974. Howden was born in Hamilton NZ in 1941 on December 21st. Howden started in the F1 world as a mechanic for Team McLaren in 1964. His best results were 4th places in the 1971 United States GP and the 1972 Germany GP both times driving the BRM.
