Getting Ready For CAC 2004

As I ready myself for the journey to Las Vegas this week to be inducted into the CAC Hall of Fame, I wanted to just take a moment to thank some of you that have been so supportive to me over the years.

Rob Moore has, to borrow a catch phrase, been a PERFECT host, to me in allowing me the mobility to tell stories about my life and things that have affected me over the years. I offer the best of everything to him and his family for being so nice to me and for being caring people. Great friends like you only come by once in a lifetime.

Pennie Hauck, who still stays in contact with me, THANK YOU for sharing some programs a few years ago with the CAC. Your act of kindness has been very much appreciated, and I hope that we will continue to stay in touch from time to time.

Angel and Jimmy Valiant … for all the love that you two give the world each and every week at Boogies Wrestling Camp. Passing on your knowledge of Wrestling is a gift that will allow future generations to carry on your legacy of Old School Style.

Dr. David Ring ... I can't begin to thank you for all that you have done for me in the short six years that we have been acquainted. We have been thru good and bad times. We have both been through surgeries that have left our bodies scarred but not damaged. We have both lost a lot of our good friends in the wrestling business. I can only give you the highest of praise of being my best friend on earth. THANK YOU, Doc, for being there for me and for all that you have done for everybody.

Dan Roeglin … I appreciate all the friendship that we have and the constant barrage of emails that I get from you. The quiet moments that we have sat and talked about Dick The Bruiser and Ox Baker will forever be etched in my memory banks. Sharing the precious moments you had on tape with me is a gift that I can't put a price on.

Chief Paul Farber ... for showing me a great time in Peotone, Illinois on the visits I have had there. Thanks for getting greats in our business like Moose Cholak and Buddy Roberts to the autograph tables at your events for me to re-kindle friendships with. Mostly for putting up with me while staying at your home … you rolled out the red carpet every time I have been there.

Juan "Mr. Karate" Hernandez … Thank you for being the kind, compassionate and understanding friend that you have become. Just being there to help the needy in South Chicago with Alicia's House will be a lasting memory in my mind. Honoring you at the CAC a few years ago was an absolute pleasure and a privilege that I will cherish.

To the beautiful young lady that God brought into my life in 2003 ... I LOVE YOU Hunny Bunny ... very much and will until I draw my last breath of air.

Basil Eugene Friend … my uncle, who has been at my side from my birth and now is the last of my family I have left. YOU'RE THE BEST!!!!!!!!! Stick around and keep me agitated all you want. It's a good feeling knowing that there are people that care without any reservations.

I have many other friends that I would like to thank for their kindness and will do so in future sessions. Your memories have given me the strength to continue every day. Your FRIENDSHIP will live in my heart for an eternity.

Hope to see everyone in Las Vegas.
