What's New at Pentapod's World of 2300AD

October 8th, 2009

As Yahoo is shutting down Geocities later this month on the 26th, this website is moving soon ( within the next 10 days).  Please keep an eye here or on the 2300AD list for the new location.

I have not asked, or given permission to, anyone to backup/archive my website.  So ignore the net rumors some are spreading; if you spot someone infringing on my copyrights, please email me at my regular address.

The Currency Exchange Rates in 2300AD article has been updated with preliminary 2007 data, you can find it on the Best of the 2300AD Mailing List page.

Today is Ocho de Mayo.  Join me in lifting a toast to General Zachary "Old Rough-and-Ready!" Taylor and his troops for their victory defending Palo Alto ( in Texas) from a Mexican Army attack in 1846, in the first major battle of the Mexican-American War.

For more info, I recommend Today in History: May 8 at The Library of Congress,
and this Encyclopædia Britannica article on The Battle of Palo Alto.

April 30th, 2008

Today is Camerone Day, one of the most sacred dates to the French Foreign Legion.
