Apollo's Ryan Hemphill could be the star Pennsylvanian race fans have been waiting a long time for.  Like most up and comers, Ryan cut his teeth in go-karts at a young age.  In three years of competition, Hemphill racked up apporximately fifty wins.  By the tender age of fifteen, he was running in Legacy cars, where he won the classic Blue-Grey Shootout at Jennerstown Speedway and the Fireball Roberts Memorial at Hickory.

Ryan moved to late model competition in 1999, where he claimed Rookie of the Year honors at both Jennerstown Speedway and Motordrome Speedway.  He continued to compete at Motordrome through 2000, though his career began to branch out to other series.  In two ASA starts in 2000, Hemphill finished 12th respectively in both.
In 2001, Ryan focussed more effort on ASA competition, although he still managed to compete in eleven races at Motordrome, winning five times.  He scored his career best ASA finish at Chicago Speedway where he finished sixth. Later in the year, he made his NASCAR All-Pro Series debut, finishing an impressive third at Memphis.
Over the next two seasons, Ryan got his big break into NASCAR.  In 2002, Rick Ware put him in his Craftsman Truck for two races where Ryan recorded a respectible 16th place finish at Milwaukee.  The performance caught the eye of Bobby Hamilton, who signed Ryan to a four race deal in his truck.  He capitalized with three top-fifteen qualifications and a tenth place finish at South Boston.  Ryan recorded his first career victories in the All-Pro Series and NASCAR Re/Max Series.  He ran three CTS races in 2003 for Billy Ballew, though with lesser results.
The opportunity of a life time came in 2004, as Ryan was named to Chip Ganassi's Driver Development Program.  The deal included 14 ARCA Series races.  Ryan took the series by storm as he finished fifth in his first ever race at the Daytona International Speedway.  Hemphill was not done impressing, as he went on to win six poles and six races in the 2004 campaign.
The furture became even brighter as Ryan was named the new full-time driver of the #4 Geico Biagi Racing Dodge in the 2005 Busch Series season.  He will run for Rookie of the Year.  Hopefully, Ryan's natural talent will help him prevail in this series as well.  PAR will follow Ryan's season the whole way through Homestead.
Good Luck, Ryan!
