As a neighborhood, South Chicago is swelling with 11-19 year olds, over 33% of the neighborhood is under the age of 18. The PACC Jr./Sr. High Ministries seek to present a relevant picture of Christ to these teens, offering truth and hope to this disengaged generation. Weekly youth group and Bible study meetings provide a means for outreach and discipleship, while developing significant friendships with the teens. The summer also offers opportunities for special outreach-oriented events, such as basketball tournaments (see left), concerts, and day trips. Interns most directly serve the youth with their friendship, but also orchestrate Bible studies and youth events. |
